AP Exam Schedule 2027: May 3–7 and May 10–14
The 2027 AP Exams are given in schools over two weeks in May: May 3–7 and May 10–14, 2027, according to the College Board. Late testing runs May 17–21, 2027. Scores are released in July 2027; the College Board says the exact 2027 score release schedule will be published in spring 2027. A few key dates: AP Biology is on Monday, May 3 (Session 2), AP Chemistry on Thursday, May 6 (Session 2), AP Calculus AB and BC on Monday, May 10 (Session 1), and AP Psychology on Friday, May 14 (Session 2). For 2027 the College Board has replaced the old morning and afternoon labels with Session 1 and Session 2, because start times outside the US now depend on your time zone.
Whether you are taking one AP Exam or five, knowing the exact days early changes how you plan: it tells you when your review needs to peak, whether two exams land close together, and which weeks to keep clear. Week 1: May 3–7, 2027
Monday, May 3, 2027: AP Human Geography in Session 1 and AP Biology in Session 2. Wednesday, May 5: AP Physics 1 in Session 2. Thursday, May 6: AP Chemistry in Session 2. Friday, May 7: AP United States History in Session 1. On when to arrive: in the lower 48 US states, Hawaii and Washington DC, Session 1 still starts at 8 a.m. and Session 2 at 12 p.m. local time. Everywhere else the start time depends on your UTC offset — in India, for example, Session 1 is 6.30 a.m. and Session 2 is 10.30 a.m.; in the UAE, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Your AP coordinator will confirm your school's times.
Week 2: May 10–14, 2027
Monday, May 10, 2027: AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, both in Session 1 — which is why you take one or the other, not both. Tuesday, May 11: AP Precalculus in Session 1 and AP Statistics in Session 2. Wednesday, May 12: AP English Language and Composition in Session 1. Friday, May 14: AP Psychology in Session 2. If you have exams in both weeks, the weekend of May 8–9 sits between them — a useful place for one last full practice exam for anything in week 2.
Late testing: May 17–21, 2027
The College Board runs a late-testing week from May 17 to May 21, 2027 for students who cannot take an exam on its regular date for an approved reason — two of your exams scheduled in the same session, an illness, or an emergency, for example. You cannot book late testing yourself: your AP coordinator orders it, so if you see a clash on your schedule or something goes wrong near exam day, tell them as early as you can.
Deadlines your school works to
You take AP Exams through your school, and the school has to order them. The College Board's preferred ordering deadline for the 2026-27 year is October 2, 2026, and the final deadline is November 13, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET; exams ordered after that carry a $40-per-exam late fee, with some exceptions. Your school may set its own earlier deadline, so ask your AP coordinator rather than working to the College Board's date. Make sure you have joined your AP class section in My AP with the join code from your teacher — if you are taking an exam without the course, the AP coordinator at the school where you will test gives you the code. If My AP shows a Register for the Exam button, click it: at some schools the exam is not ordered until you do.
When 2027 AP scores come out
AP scores are released in July 2027. The College Board has not yet published the exact day: it says the 2027 score release schedule will be available in spring 2027, and this page will be updated when it is. Scores run from 1 to 5, and you see them in your College Board account. Whether a score earns college credit or placement depends entirely on the college — many accept a 3 or higher, some ask for a 4 or 5, and some give no credit in certain subjects — so check each college's own AP credit policy. Turning the dates into a plan
Work backward from each exam date. For each subject, pencil in one full timed practice exam about two weeks before it and a second in the final week, and use the gap to fix the question types that cost you the most points. If two of your exams fall in the same week, stagger your final review so each gets a clear last few days, rather than trying to peak for both at once. And put May 17–21 on your calendar too, just in case: if you end up needing late testing, you will be glad you did not book something over it.
