Microsoft Teams + AI Tutor: A Quick Setup for Schools That Use Teams

Many schools have switched from Google to Microsoft over the last few years. Teams Education is the dominant LMS in UK private schools and many European institutions. The integration with Help in Study is identical to Google Classroom — read access only, AI study coach, one-tap help.

Setup in 60 seconds

1. Open the Teams page
2. Click Connect Microsoft Teams
3. Sign in with your school Microsoft 365 account
4. Confirm read access on the consent screen

Your classes appear immediately. Assignments and deadlines refresh on every visit.

What this looks like in real use

• Monday morning, you open the app
• The AI coach lists the three things to start on this week
• One assignment is overdue — there is a yellow tag and a one-line suggestion to email your teacher
• The other two have due dates and links straight to Explain on the topic

Privacy notes

• We only ever ask for read scopes
• We never submit, edit, or delete anything in Teams
• Token stored encrypted, deleted when you disconnect
• Available to any school Microsoft 365 account with Teams for Education enabled

What the AI cannot do

• Write your assignment (you wouldn't want that — you'd fail the in-class one)
• See messages in chats
• See files outside your assignment folders
