NEET prep Biology help — done properly
NEET Biology is the most NCERT-faithful section of the entire exam. 90%+ of questions come directly from NCERT line items. The students who get 350+ in Biology aren't smarter — they've read NCERT Class 11 and 12 cover-to-cover at least 5 times.
Exam format you'll actually sit
NEET 2026: Biology section = 90 questions (45 Botany + 45 Zoology), 720 max marks for the full paper. 200 minutes total. +4 for correct, -1 for wrong, 0 for unattempted.
Highest-yield topics (the ones that show up year after year)
- Plant kingdom (Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, Gymnosperms, Angiosperms) — Botany Class 11
- Anatomy of flowering plants — every NEET
- Photosynthesis + respiration in plants — Botany Class 11
- Human reproduction — Zoology Class 12
- Genetics + molecular basis of inheritance — Zoology Class 12
- Biotechnology + applications — Zoology Class 12
- Ecology — usually 15+ questions per paper
- Animal kingdom (porifera through chordata) — Zoology Class 11
Drill these first. If you can't do every one of these cold, work through them with /explain or /problem-variants.
Common mistakes that quietly cost marks
- Reading NCERT just once and then jumping to MCQs — you need 5 reads minimum
- Memorising without understanding evolutionary relationships — leads to confusion in mixed questions
- Ignoring Botany — it's still 45 marks!
- Confusing Class 11 and Class 12 content boundaries
- Not making your own one-page summaries per chapter
When you mark your past papers, tag each lost mark to one of these. The pattern reveals where to focus.

Realistic study plan
NCERT reading: 30 pages per day for 3 months. After 2 reads, start MCQs alongside (30 per day). Last 30 days: pure PYQ + mock tests every other day.
