French verbs eat up half your study time and earn most of your marks. The trick is to drill them as triggers, not lists.
Verb drill loop
- Pick five verbs you got wrong on the last quiz.
- Make a flashcard per tense per verb in Flashcards.
- Drill ten minutes a day for a week.
- Take a Mock Exam on those verbs only.
- Move on.
Vocabulary that sticks
Paste the French word or phrase into Explain and ask for the meaning plus two example sentences. Set your board first and the examples come back in the register your paper expects. Add the words that surprised you to flashcards.
Writing the exam essay
French exam writing rewards specific vocabulary and varied tenses. The students who score top use the imperfect, conditional and subjunctive in the right places. Use Essay Coach → "Improve my draft" with your essay pasted in. The AI will point at sentences that could lift their tense or vocabulary.
